Who designed Titanic?

The design of Titanic was actually a collaborative affair, with a trio of principal designers made up of Andrews, Alexander Carlisle, and Edward Wilding. Here we give a snapshot of the lives and involvement of all three men. Thomas Andrews is commonly referred to as the designer of Titanic, to the exclusion of Carlisle and Wilding.

Who travelled on the Titanic in 1912?

Titanic was no exception, so Andrews and the rest of his Harland and Wolff group travelled from Belfast on Titanic for her sea trials on 2 April 1912. He had been assigned to head up the builder's delegation during the trials. He was accompanied by Edward Wilding and yard employees. He was booked in First Class and would occupy cabin A-36.

Did Thomas Andrews go down with the Titanic?

He never overcame the shame of jumping into a lifeboat and retired from the White Star Line in 1913, a broken man. Like Captain Smith, Thomas Andrews, the designer of the Titanic, went down with his ship.
